I have been wondering if I ride horses through high school, can I get a scholarship to college? I have been intending to go to Texas A&M. I am going to become a freshman this year and I want to be with horses. I havent shown in riding shows yet. Is there a way I could get a scholarship?

My horse, Forest is a beutiful thoroughbred gelding. But part of being a thoroughbred is the spirit that comes with it. I cannot wear any crinkly clothing, like raincoats, because he spooks at the crinkly noise. How can I keep warm while it’s snowing?

Horse Rider asked: I want to try riding my horse bareback. I want to gain that experience. My grandmother said that when she first rode a horse it was bareback, but she doesn’t know anything about horses really. Is it anything like riding without stirrups? I would be harder without the support of the saddle, I know that. Any tips on when is right and how to do this?

So let’s pretend that I have a ten year old Appaloosa gelding; what do I need to go on a 25-50 mile endurance ride? Definitely need my horse, helmet, comfortable clothes, stethoscope, etc, but what else do I need?
